Cervical spondylitic myelopathy is a condition that affects the spinal cord in the neck.  It is the most common spinal cord disorder in the United States.  Cervical spondylitic myelopathy most frequently occurs in adults because of degenerative changes in the neck vertebrae that create pressure on the spinal cord.  Vertebrae are the series of bones that make up your spine.
