New pharmacy computer system at Spine Care & Pain Management
helps reduce drug interactions and side effects.

Many people suffer from more than one condition requiring medication, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, chronic pain or an infection.  The more medications a person takes, the higher the risk for negative side effects and dangerous drug interactions.  Many health care professionals recommend that patients carry a complete medication list with them at all times and share it with their physicians and pharmacists.  Recently, Spine Care & Pain Management’s pharmacies installed a new computer program, called EnterpriseRx.  This program requires the pharmacist to review potential side effects based on the patient’s age, medications, and drug interactions before the medication is released to the patient.  Not only are the medications filled at our pharmacies being screened—all other medications the patient is prescribed can be screened as well.  For example, a blood pressure medication a patient fills at another pharmacy can be entered into our system and, with the help of the program, we can then screen for possible drug interactions between the patient’s other medications.  Thanks to this feature, the pharmacists at Spine Care & Pain Management pharmacies are better equipped to protect our patients from harmful reactions or side effects.

To keep you safe and reduce possible side effects, please bring your medication bottles or a list of medications to the pharmacy on your next visit.  Make sure to ask the pharmacist to enter your medications into the EnterpriseRx system.

We at Spine Care & Pain Management Pharmacy are dedicated to continuous improvement.
